ISLAMABAD, Aug 8 (APP):National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Thursday notified Rs 2.56 per unit increase in power tariff under monthly fuel cost adjustment mechanism for the month of June.
In the petition, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA-G) on behalf of XWDISCOs had sought Rs 2.63 per unit increase in power tariff for June.
The CPPA-G maintained in its petition that the actual cost of electricity remained Rs 9.70 per unit against reference fuel charges of Rs 7.14 per unit for the said period.
The increase would be applicable to all the consumer categories except Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS) and lifeline consumers. It would be shown separately in the consumers’ bills on the basis of units billed to the consumers in the month of June 2024.
XWDISCOs would reflect the fuel charges adjustment in respect of June 2024 in the billing month of August 2024, said a notification issued here.
