ISLAMABAD, Aug 8 (APP):Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said on Thursday the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has repeatedly initiated dialogues for the country’s betterment and strengthening democracy.
Speaking to a private news channel, he said that PML-N had proposed a charter of the economy as a solution to pull the nation out of the economic crisis that worsened during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) regime.
He said that the government was also engaging with the protesters of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) because their demonstrations follow lawful procedures.
The purpose of these negotiations, he said, is to resolve issues through democratic means.
Sheikh also condemned the events of May 9, labeling them as terrorist acts that cannot be tolerated and should be regarded as an attempt to rebel against the state.
He further pointed out that recent statements by the PTI founder acknowledged these anti-state activities.
